Retaining structures are permanently in contact with moist, chemically active soil — the perfect corrosion cell for steel. GFRP reinforcement is unaffected by soil chemistry, groundwater or waterfront exposure.
For soil nailing and MSE systems, GFRP’s high tensile strength and light weight make installation faster and the design section smaller.
